Lodha Commits Rs. 1.3 Lakh Cr for India's Largest Data Centre

Lodha Developers

Lodha Developers has significantly expanded its commitment to India’s data infrastructure by announcing an additional investment of Rs. 1 lakh crore into its proposed data centre project in Maharashtra.

This comes just four months after the company signed an initial ₹30,000 crore memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government for the same initiative.

On January 19, Abhishek Lodha, Managing Director and CEO of Lodha Developers, formalised the revised MoU with the Government of Maharashtra during the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.

Key Highlights

  • Lodha raises Maharashtra data centre investment to ₹1.3 lakh crore
  • 2.5 GW facility set to become India’s largest data centre park
  • Amazon and STT Global Data Centres acquire land in the project

With this new commitment, the total investment now stands at Rs. 1.3 lakh crore, positioning the project as one of the most ambitious data infrastructure developments in the country.

"The state has already scaled newer heights under the leadership of Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra. His vision and actions directed towards developed Maharashtra, gives us immense confidence in committing to such a large investment," said Abhishek Lodha, MD and CEO of Lodha Developers, highlighting the state’s development and the company’s long-term vision for growth.

The investment will fund the creation of a 2.5-gigawatt (GW) data centre park, which is expected to be the largest data centre park in India once completed. The project is designed to cater to both international and domestic data centre operators, strengthening Maharashtra’s position as a major digital infrastructure hub.

Several global players have already shown interest in the project. Amazon and Singapore-based STT Global Data Centres have acquired land within the proposed park, underscoring strong confidence in India’s rapidly expanding digital economy.

Beyond infrastructure, the data centre park is expected to generate over 16,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, contributing to regional economic growth while supporting India’s rising demand for cloud computing, hyperscale facilities, and digital services.
