Lemon Tree Premier Guwahati to Elevate Assam Tourism

In a major boost to Assam’s hospitality and healthcare infrastructure, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has laid the foundation stone for the Lemon Tree Premier Five-Star Hotel at Sarusajai, Guwahati.

The project is part of an INR 800 crore integrated complex that also includes the Medanta Super-Speciality Hospital and Cocoon Mother and Childcare Hospital, marking a milestone for Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit initiatives. Spread across 1.75 acres, the upcoming Lemon Tree Premier Guwahati will feature 300 rooms and 50 serviced apartments, making it the largest upscale property in Northeast India.

Strategically positioned near key transport links, the project underscores Guwahati’s emergence as a hub for premium hospitality and wellness tourism. Industry analysts view this as a transformative step in positioning Assam as the gateway to Southeast Asia, fostering economic growth and enhancing tourism infrastructure.

“This hotel will set a new benchmark in hospitality in the Northeast,” said Chief Minister Sarma, noting that the integrated complex would create thousands of jobs and catalyse investment in tourism, healthcare, and allied services.
