Kerzner & Assets Group Partner to Build New Luxury Maldives Resort

Atlantis​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ The Royal, Maldives is going to be an ultra-luxury destination in the Maldives that will open its doors in 2029. After the signing of a formal agreement between Kerzner International Holdings Limited and Assets Group, the resort will be situated on Vaaredhdhoo Faru Island in South Male Atoll.

It will cover an area of over 1.3 million sqm and will have 5.8 km of unspoiled beachfront. Thus, the hotel will be accessible to the visitors via a ten-minute seaplane flight and a 25-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport.

Moutaz Al Khayyat, Chairman of Assets Group, stated that the development echoes the shared vision of innovation, sustainability, and cultural authenticity as features that would lead to the creation of the destinations that will be of global significance for a long time.

H.E. Mohamed Al Shaibani, Managing Director of ICD and Chairman of the Board at Kerzner International, termed the milestone event that deepens the strategic partnership between the two entities the signing of the agreement.

Kerzner CEO Philippe Zuber said that the new property will carry the torch of the success that Atlantis The Royal in Dubai has been enjoying but at the same time, through the singular natural and cultural lens of the Maldives, it will be a redefinition of the brand.

The plans for the luxury resort at Atlantis The Royal, Maldives, include two islands - Family Island and Luxury Island - with a total of 493 keys anticipated to be hotel rooms, villas, and mansions. The master plan has 20 dining venues, two beach clubs, a world-class Aquaventure waterpark, sports academies, entertainment zones, and extensive wellness facilities that are planned for the site.
