Eco Hotels Signs First Greenfield Project in MMR

Eco Hotels enters Mumbai Metropolitan Region with greenfield hotel in Dombivli

Eco Hotels and Resorts Limited (EHRL) has signed its first Greenfield hotel project in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), marking a major milestone in the company’s rapid expansion strategy.

The move comes just two years after the company’s initial deal, underlining its aggressive growth and focus on strengthening presence in key urban hospitality markets.

The new property in Dombivli will operate under “The Eco” brand, the group’s premium mid-range hotel segment, targeting both business travellers and leisure travellers.

Key Highlights

  • Eco Hotels enters MMR with its first greenfield hotel
  • 70-room property with banquet, rooftop dining, and event spaces
  • Part of a 10+ acre integrated township in Dombivli

The hotel is expected to open within the next 24 months, adding new hospitality capacity for the fast-growing MMR micro-market.

The hotel will offer 65–70 rooms, along with a 5,000 sq ft banquet hall designed for corporate events and social gatherings. Dining options include Sahar, the brand’s signature “Back to the Roots” restaurant, and GG’s rooftop open-to-sky restaurant with a covered bar. The property will also house Kick in the Brick, a restaurant and dance-floor venue aimed at creating a vibrant guest experience.

Commenting on the expansion, Vinod Kumar Tripathi, Chairman, Eco Hotels and Resorts, said, “Entering the Mumbai Metropolitan Region is a strategically important milestone for Eco Hotels. The MMR continues to witness strong growth driven by commercial expansion, infrastructure development, and increasing demand for mid-scale, well-positioned hotels. Dombivli, in particular, is emerging as a key business and residential hub. He added, “From an industry perspective, there is a clear shift toward premium mid-range hotels that balance quality, efficiency, and value. This project aligns with our long-term vision of building scalable, sustainable hospitality assets in high-growth urban markets.”

Vikram Doshi, Director – Finance & CFO of Eco Hotels and Resorts, commented, “We are excited to enter the Mumbai Metropolitan Region with this project, marking our first property in one of India’s most dynamic urban landscapes. Starting 2026 on a high note, we have already signed our third property in January 2026, which is part of a broader portfolio of properties approved by our Board in December 2025. This expansion represents an important step forward for Eco Hotels as we continue to scale our operations and deliver exceptional hospitality experiences.”
