Officials believe this will significantly reduce processing delays which currently result from application errors and incomplete documentation.
The initiative is expected to benefit nearly 13.05 lakh property owners linked to SAS ID-based properties across Bengaluru. Citizens can now use their property tax identification details to download e-Khata certificates and submit final e-Khata applications through the official e-Aasthi portal.
The GBA has implemented automatic verification and approval systems for properties that receive the classification of "ready for transaction or registration" as part of its digital transformation efforts. The verification process will use uploaded Encumbrance Certificates (ECs) to expedite property registration and transfer operations.
Karnataka government works to expand e-Khata system through its current operations which aim to develop transparent systems. The system has already registered more than 25 lakh properties across Bengaluru.
