Accor to Develop 4,000+ Hotel Keys Across Saudi Arabia

Accor and Al Qimmah Hospitality expand their Saudi partnership beyond 4,000 keys across five hotels, including an 850-key Novotel in Makkah expected to open in 2030, supporting religious tourism and Vision 2030.

Accor and BinDawood Investment’s hospitality brand Al Qimmah Hospitality team up to build a hospitality portfolio comprising over 4,000 keys throughout Saudi Arabia, with a heavy emphasis on Makkah and Madinah. The partnership also involves signing 850 keys for a Novotel located in Makkah that is set to open its doors in 2030.

The most recent agreement was made in Paris during the French-Saudi Investment Roundtable. It is based on the master development agreement that was made between the two firms in 2025. The inclusion of the hotel Novotel makes it five properties in total for the joint venture in the cities of Jeddah, Makkah, and Madinah.

The Novotel Makkah, which will soon open, will add to the provision of quality lodging facilities in the Holy City and boost the profile of Accor in one of the most significant religious tourist destinations in Saudi Arabia. The new facility is set to cater to pilgrims and other tourists as Saudi Arabia develops its tourism and hospitality industry through its Saudi Vision 2030 project.

The joint venture portfolio includes Mercure Makkah Shesha, ibis Styles Makkah Mesfalah, Mövenpick Madinah, Swissôtel Jeddah, and the recently acquired Novotel Makkah. In total, these hotels offer more than 4,000 guestrooms in three important locations in Saudi Arabia.

There will also be an element related to employment and training. Through Tamayyaz – which was created in collaboration with the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Tourism Accor plans to hire and train more than 3,000 Saudis by 2030. This initiative is designed to train hospitality professionals and future industry leaders in view of expanding the tourism sector in the Kingdom.

The relationship is getting strengthened owing to the increased demand in the hospitality industry in Saudi Arabia. This is in relation to the country’s desire to accommodate an increased number of visitors within such destinations as Makkah and Madinah, which are very important religious destinations in Saudi Arabia. The city of Jeddah remains important as well.

The extended partnership with Al Qimmah Hospitality thus helps reinforce the long-term growth strategy of Accor in Saudi Arabia, even as it contributes to the efforts of the Kingdom to boost its tourist facilities and local hospitality talent pool.
