Saga Spaces : Designing Tomorrow's Spaces Rooted in India's Heritage

Abhishek Verma
Founder & Principal architect

Architects based out of historically significant places in general face significant challenges in balancing heritage conservation with urban development. One major challenge is raising awareness about the importance of preserving traditional design tenet and cultural legacies.

Today, rapid urban development, deforestation, and changing landscapes further complicate the effort to maintain harmony between modern growth and natural and cultural preservation.

Amid these modern-day dilemmas, Saga Spaces addresses these challenges by actively restoring, and conserving historic structures such as old Portuguese villas and innovate new age tropical designs that complement the vibe of Goa.

In total, the company demonstrates that heritage conservation can coexist with contemporary development while positioning itself as an innovative and culturally sensitive company.

Foundation story

The company was established in 2019 by Abhishek Verma, an architect from Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh, and later was joined by Shraddha Vanage as Principal Interior Designer. Abhishek graduated from Chandigarh College of Architecture and further went on to pursue his masters in BIM technologies from Europe.

His early exposure to traditional and modern European architecture during his time in Switzerland shaped his design sensitivity and interest in advanced technology. There, he gained expertise in BIM tools which recognized his ability to streamline design, construction, and client coordination.

After returning to India, he worked in the Delhi- NCR region before moving to Goa in 2013 to pursue conservation-sensitive architecture. In Goa, he collaborated with a German architect to balance Portuguese-inspired aesthetics with modern comforts such as contemporary AC systems, aluminum, and automation. His approach emphasized nature, light, and seasonal variations while preserving the timeless character of Goan architecture.

He later worked with developers like Sun Estates and Isprava Vesta, contributing to luxury projects including  project was designed across varying levels of a small hill, creating the feel of a Portuguese hill village, with winding roads and villas positioned to maximize views.

The success of Nova Vagator led to a wider “Nova” series, including Nova Anjuna, Nova Sakur, and Nova Reis Magos. The project remains a key milestone for Saga Spaces, showcasing their design sensitivity and ability to deliver distinctive, high-end residential experiences.

The Ease of Trade

Saga helps clients navigate the complexities of acquiring and developing property in Goa. Many clients from outside the region lack local knowledge, making it difficult to secure land or obtain government permissions.

The company simplifies this process by guiding clients through legal, regulatory, and procedural requirements, ensuring smooth acquisition and development, including for properties with ownership or permission challenges.

“If you’ve ever dreamed of owning your own slice of Goan heaven — reach out to us, and we’ll help you bring it to life,” states Ar. Abhishek Verma, Founder and Principal Architect, Saga Spaces.
