Lighting has evolved far beyond its traditional role of illumination and is now a defining element in modern architecture and spatial design. Across commercial buildings, heritage landmarks, luxury hospitality spaces, television studios and public infrastructure, architectural lighting plays a critical role in shaping visual experiences, enhancing aesthetics and improving functionality. This transformation is reshaping the global lighting industry, with India emerging as one of the fastest growing markets for advanced lighting solutions.
Driven by rapid urbanization, smart infrastructure initiatives and the growing adoption of energyefficient LED technologies, the demand for intelligent and customized lighting systems continues to rise.
Consumers and institutions today seek lighting solutions that are not only sustainable and programmable, but also capable of creating immersive and visually engaging environments that elevate the identity and appeal of modern spaces.
Amidst this transformation, Leksa Lighting Technologies has emerged as one of India’s rising names in the architectural and professional lighting segment. Founded in 2018, the company has built its identity around a simple but ambitious vision: delivering world-class lighting solutions designed and manufactured in India.
What makes Leksa Lighting stand out is its ability to combine engineering precision with design sensibility. From architectural façade lighting and landscape illumination to television studio lighting and auditorium solutions, the company has steadily positioned itself as a specialized player catering to high-end and technically demanding projects.
Over the last eight years, Leksa Lighting has not only strengthened its presence across India but has also expanded internationally, executing projects in more than 20 countries and has won many prestigious awards & recognitions for manufacturing & executing high end specialized lighting projects all over. At a time when the industry is moving toward intelligent and customized lighting ecosystems, the company is carving its space through indigenous innovation, turnkey execution, and a strong focus on quality.
Built with Purpose
Leksa Lighting Technologies was established at a time when India’s premium lighting segment was heavily dependent on imported products. While high-end lighting systems were widely used in monuments, studios, auditoriums and tourism projects, the market lacked reliable Indian manufacturers capable of delivering global-quality solutions & products along with long-term service support. The company identified this gap early and built itself around a turnkey model that could handle everything from concept and simulation to manufacturing, installation and after-sales support.
Today, Leksa Lighting manufactures more than 500 products in-house. Unlike many players that rely on imported assemblies, the company has invested significantly in indigenous manufacturing, engineering and research capabilities. It operates with its own R&D infrastructure, nationally accredited NABL photometry lab and simulation facilities that allow precise lighting design and customization for every project.
One of the company’s most distinctive aspects is its location. Instead of operating from a major metropolitan hub, Leksa Lighting chose Mudbidri near Mangalore as its base. The decision was intentional. The leadership wanted to create opportunities for local talent while building a manufacturing ecosystem rooted in skill development and long-term employment generation.
That philosophy continues to shape the company’s growth. A large section of the workforce consists of trained freshers who were developed internally through structured systems and technical mentoring. Over time, the organization has adopted global manufacturing practices such as Jidoka (built in quality) Kaizen, Just-in-Time, FIFO, KPI management systems and performance-driven operational frameworks to ensure consistency and scalability. The result is a company that blends industrial discipline with entrepreneurial ambition.
Beyond Illumination
For Leksa Lighting, lighting is not simply about brightness. It is about creating atmosphere, enhancing architecture and shaping visual experiences. This philosophy is especially visible in the company’s architectural lighting projects. Whether illuminating heritage monuments, public infrastructure or contemporary commercial buildings, the approach always begins with understanding the structure itself, its texture, material, color palette, geometry and intended visual identity.
For Leksa Lighting, lighting is not simply about brightness. It is about creating atmosphere, enhancing architecture, and shaping visual experiences
The company relies heavily on lighting simulations and detailed modeling before project execution. Using advanced software and IESbased calculations, Leksa Lighting creates realistic visual representations that allow customers to see how their spaces will appear under different lighting concepts.
Clients can experiment with single-color illumination, dynamic RGBW lighting, programmable façade effects or customized lighting moods before final implementation begins.
This level of customization has become increasingly important in today’s market, where architectural spaces are expected to deliver immersive visual experiences. From programmable DMX-controlled systems to carefully calibrated color temperatures, every lighting decision is treated as part of a larger design narrative.
The company has also built strong expertise in technically challenging heritage projects. Illuminating historical structures often involves strict restrictions, where drilling, surface alterations or physical modifications are prohibited. In such cases, Leksa Lighting develops non-invasive installation strategies while ensuring that the lighting enhances rather than disrupts the architectural character of the structure.
Its experience in handling such projects has helped the company build credibility in a segment where technical precision and aesthetic sensitivity must work together seamlessly.
Expanding Across High-End Segments
While architectural facade lighting remains a major strength, Leksa Lighting has steadily expanded across several specialized verticals. The company today has strong capabilities in television studio lighting, auditorium and stage lighting, landscape lighting, entertainment lighting, and professional lighting systems for public infrastructure projects. It has also entered related segments such as video walls and truss systems, strengthening its broader professional solutions portfolio.
Its project portfolio reflects this diversity. Leksa Lighting has contributed to major installations including Ayodhya Dham Railway Station, Vidhana Soudha of Bangalore, Suvarna Soucha of Belgaum, Kachiguda Railway Station and over 140 Railway stations, prestigious government buildings, IITs, IIMs, AIMS and leading media studios such as NDTV, Times Now, Aajtak, TV9 and Doordarshan.
What makes this growth particularly notable is the speed at which the company has scaled internationally. In less than a decade, Leksa Lighting has executed projects in countries including Thailand, Canada, SriLanka, Bangladesh, Tanzania, Nigeria,, and several Middle Eastern markets.
For an Indian manufacturer operating in a highly specialized category, this expansion reflects growing confidence in India’s engineering and manufacturing capabilities. The company’s positioning today is clear it wants to be viewed not as a mass-market lighting manufacturer, but as a premium engineering-led brand focused on high-performance solutions.

The Road Ahead
The future of architectural lighting will be defined by intelligence, sustainability and personalization. Buildings are becoming smarter, infrastructure is becoming digitally connected and consumers increasingly expect lighting systems that are dynamic, energy-efficient and experience-driven.
Leksa Lighting Is Aligning Itself Closely With This Evolution.
The company continues to invest in advanced LED technologies, smart controls, programmable systems and energy-efficient solutions that can adapt to modern architectural requirements. A second manufacturing facility in Patna is already underway, aimed at strengthening production capabilities and supporting growing demand across eastern and northeastern India.
But beyond expansion, the company’s long-term ambition is much larger. Leksa Lighting wants to establish itself as a globally respected Indian lighting brand capable of competing with international players while remaining rooted in indigenous innovation.
At a time when India is pushing strongly toward selfreliance in manufacturing and technology, companies like Leksa Lighting represents a new generation of specialized industrial enterprises and organizations that combine technical expertise, design thinking and global ambition with a distinctly Indian identity.
In many ways, Leksa Lighting’s story is not just about illumination. It is about building an industry, creating opportunities and proving that Indian engineering can shine on the global stage.
