Skål International India launched its 20th club, Skål International Kashmir, recording an epoch-making landmark as the first Skål club in India to be opened by a Chief Minister.
The event was held at Taj Dal View, Srinagar with Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, gracing the occasion as the chief guest.

“Kashmir opens its arms to Skål International. We will be the ones to invite the world to see our peace, beauty, and hospitality again. Tourism is the business in which we are the leaders and Skål International India is the perfect partner to take the credit to Kashmir,” said Omar.
The list of executive members of the club Skål International Kashmir was unveiled, among them included the President Zahoor Ahmad Qari and the Vice Presidents Showket Ahmad Pakhtoon and Shamim A Shah.
The night was adorned with the entertainment of the Kashmiri culture and it also focused on the club’s pledge to the environment-friendly tourism, strong partnerships with the locals, and being visible to the world. Skål International India intends to have clubs in each Indian state and Union Territory, thus creating the possibility for professional exchange and socio-economic development to be strengthened.

Skål International India President Sanjeev Mehra shared his thoughts by saying, “It is an honor for us to have 20 clubs, and Kashmir speaks of itself as the ultimate destination of worldwide travel and environmentally friendly tourism growth.”
Vice President Mohan NSN pointed out the global potential of the valley and Showket Ahmad Pakhtoon, Vice President, once again confirmed the club’s mission to reveal the heritage and the unique experiences of Kashmir to the world.
