Sattva Group Launches Rs 11,000 Cr Redevelopment Push in Mumbai

The Sattva Group is making its foray into the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) with a portfolio of six residential and commercial redevelopment projects. The total area of the combined six projects is over 8 million square feet and has a combined gross development value (GDV) of Rs 11,000 crores.

The projects have been won by Sattva Group through a competitive bidding process and have been strategically placed throughout Mumbai. The cities where the projects are being developed include Parel (Sewri), Prabhadevi, Goregaon (East), Vile Parle (West), Powai, and the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) area of Mumbai.

The construction of the six projects is expected to yield over 2,500 rehabilitation homes and over 2,000 new residential housing units for the public. Construction of the projects is slated to begin in 2026 and will take place in phases until 2032, with the first occupancy of the projects expected by 2028.

Bijay Agarwal, Managing Director, Sattva Group, elaborated on the significance of the company's entry into the Mumbai market. He remarked that Mumbai is now entering a unique period of urban change, with a great deal of emphasis on the replacement of old housing with safer and more sustainable housing.

Sattva Group's entry into the Mumbai market coincides with the current phase of substantial redevelopment of many of the ageing buildings found within Mumbai. Over 16,000 of the current structures are in need of redevelopment in order for them to comply with current safety and sustainability requirements.
