The Delhi Development Authority (DDA), chaired by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, has approved a series of major urban development projects, including the capital’s first Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) housing project, large-scale land pooling policy changes, and a new sports and education hub in Narela.
The TOD project, titled “Towering Heights” at Karkardooma, will feature 1,026 2BHK ready-to-launch flats, marking a key milestone in DDA’s push for sustainable, high-density housing near metro corridors.
Key Highlights
In a landmark move under the Land Pooling Policy, the authority cleared 40.23 hectares for development — the first sector to achieve the required 70 percent contiguous pooled land, making it eligible for urban transformation.
Additionally, DDA approved the change of land use for 30.35 hectares in Narela from residential and commercial to Public and Semi-Public (PSP) to facilitate the construction of a world-class Multi-Sports Integrated Stadium and Complex, capable of hosting national and international events.
The project is expected to stimulate the local economy, create jobs, and promote sports tourism.

Narela will also be developed into an education hub, with 4.33 hectares of land earmarked for universities and academic infrastructure. These initiatives align with the Master Plan for Delhi-2021, driving integrated and sustainable urban growth.
