Whirlpool Corporation is expanding its connected kitchen ecosystem through the launch of the new KitchenAid Smart Thermometer, a wireless app-connected cooking device designed to help home cooks monitor food temperatures remotely and improve cooking precision. The launch reflects Whirlpool’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in the growing smart kitchen and connected home appliances market.
The KitchenAid Smart Thermometer pairs with the KitchenAid mobile application and provides real-time temperature tracking, guided cooking notifications, and remote monitoring features aimed at simplifying cooking for consumers. The device supports multiple cooking methods including grilling, roasting, smoking, air frying, and stovetop cooking.

According to the company, the thermometer includes Bluetooth connectivity with a monitoring range of up to 285 feet, allowing users to track cooking progress while moving around the house. The device can monitor both internal food temperature and ambient cooking conditions, while app notifications alert users when it is time to flip, remove, or rest food.
The product additionally features waterproof and dishwasher-safe probes, rechargeable batteries with up to 24 hours of runtime, and quick-charge functionality that provides several hours of cooking time after a short charging period. Select models also support dual-probe functionality for monitoring multiple dishes simultaneously.
Through the KitchenAid app, users can access cooking graphs, save favourite recipes, and receive step-by-step cooking guidance. Whirlpool stated that the smart thermometer is intended to enhance convenience and improve engagement within the broader KitchenAid connected appliance ecosystem.
Industry analysts noted that connected kitchen products are becoming increasingly important for appliance manufacturers as consumers adopt smart home technologies and app-driven cooking experiences. The launch also complements KitchenAid’s wider smart appliance portfolio showcased earlier this year, including AI-enabled refrigerators and smart ovens with intelligent cooking cameras.

The development comes during a challenging financial period for Whirlpool, which recently reported weaker quarterly earnings and suspended its dividend amid softer global appliance demand. Analysts believe the company is increasingly focusing on premium connected products and digital kitchen ecosystems to strengthen customer loyalty and long-term brand positioning.
The KitchenAid Smart Thermometer is currently available in single-probe and dual-probe variants priced at approximately $99.99 and $199.99 respectively.
