Sharp unveils Rhoyu window AC with air purifier feature

Sharp

Sharp has announced a new line of window air conditioners in India, and it has introduced what it says is the first window AC in the country with active air purification technology.

The most notable of the lineup is a combination of the own proprietary system of Sharp; the Plasmacluster system that releases positive and negative ions to neutralise bacteria, allergens and odours and also cools the indoor areas.

Key Highlights

  • Sharp launches India’s first window AC with air purification
  • Rhoyu series supports cooling up to 52°C with inverter options
  • Prices start at Rs 34,490 with up to 10-year compressor warranty

The new line is split into two series: the Rhoyu inverter model, which comes in a 1.45-ton capacity, and Rhoyu-FS fixed-speed series, which will be available in capacities of 1.41-1.70 tons.

Both the variants are designed to be able to work effectively under extreme conditions and can work up to temperatures up to 52 C which is why it will work under the harsh Indian summers. The fixed-speed models also have a wider range of air throw up to 18 metres and serve larger room and open spaces.

Regarding the performance, the inverter models have a twin rotary compressor, turbo cool option, Coanda airflow, and 4-way auto swing in order to achieve even air distribution. The 4-in-1 convertible cooling mode also enables one to control the capacity according to the cooling requirement.

The two series have environmentally-friendly R32 refrigerant and copper condensers with anti-corrosion blue fin coating, improving humid environment performance.

Its price begins at 34490 of the fixed speed models and 39990 of the inverter models. The range is supported by a five years total warranty and extra 10 years warranty on compressor of the inverter units.
