A leading manufacturer of switches, fans, lighting, wires, cables, switch & socket and other home electrical products, Panasonic Life Solutions India (PEWIN) has opened a new manufacturing unit in Daman, Gujarat. The new fanatical facility in Daman will enhance the current manufacturing capabilities as well as lighting manufacturing capacity of PEWIN in India. Panasonic Life Solutions has endowed a total investment of Rs. 15 million which will assist the company’s in-house manufacturing of lighting products and foster the further plans for growth. With this dedicated investment & a deliberated expansion plan of PEWIN goals to direct the segment of lighting by 2030.
Strategically the new facility is placed in the North & West region to gratify to the emerging demand for lighting products. The newly built manufacturing unit will primarily manufacture lighting fixtures including downlights before ultimately escalating to other product portfolio.
At present, the manufacturing capacity of the company in the first year is 1.5 lakh units and it is intended to enlarge by 115 percent for the whole Lighting industry in FY2024.
Being leading lighting provider of India, PEWIN - Panasonic Life Solutions India has an outline to develop their business under lighting category by the year 2030. The mission was undertaken to aid people live better life and to develop the future growth potential of India.

Speaking on to this auspicious new launch in Daman, Kuniyasu Shimaoka, Managing Director, Global Lighting business, Panasonic Corporation commented, “We see enormous potential in India especially with regards to the manufacturing industry. The investment is for INR 15 million is set with the objective of expanding our business in India. Keeping in mind the 10th anniversary of Make in India, Panasonic (PEWIN) aims to start manufacturing in Daman to speed up inland manufacturing, while continuing business with Indian suppliers.”
At the same time, sharing his thoughts on this new initiative, Masato Miyamaru, Director, Lighting business, PEWIN said,” Panasonic aims to become the leading player in the lighting segment in the Indian market by FY2030. In terms of attracting more clients and projects across India, we aim to significantly ramp up operations. The geographic location of the facility in Daman adds strength to our existing operations where we already have a robust network of essential suppliers. Our main intent to have internal production is to share Panasonic’s quality management experience with our suppliers.”
