Bengaluru e-Khata Users Can Now Edit Applications Online

Bengaluru residents will now be able to withdraw incorrectly submitted e-Khata applications and make corrections to property details online, following a series of upgrades introduced by the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA). The new system helps users by providing simpler property services which decrease their requirement to visit government offices multiple times.

The workshop which took place at Bengaluru's Town Hall served as the venue for the officials to receive information about the city's digital property documentation system improvements which had been recently implemented.

Special Commissioner Munish Moudgil announced that the updated e-Khata platform now provides property management functions through its design which enhances citizen accessibility and operational efficiency and system transparency.

Under the new system property owners can now correct specific information through online self-service instead of waiting for manual approval. The authorities have implemented a withdrawal system which enables applicants to cancel their incorrect e-Khata applications and submit new applications with correct information. Officials believe this will significantly reduce processing delays which currently result from application errors and incomplete documentation.

The initiative is expected to benefit nearly 13.05 lakh property owners linked to SAS ID-based properties across Bengaluru. Citizens can now use their property tax identification details to download e-Khata certificates and submit final e-Khata applications through the official e-Aasthi portal.

The GBA has implemented automatic verification and approval systems for properties that receive the classification of "ready for transaction or registration" as part of its digital transformation efforts. The verification process will use uploaded Encumbrance Certificates (ECs) to expedite property registration and transfer operations.

Karnataka government works to expand e-Khata system through its current operations which aim to develop transparent systems. The system has already registered more than 25 lakh properties across Bengaluru. The authorities plan to use Aadhaar verification together with GPS mapping and digital sketches and ownership documentation to facilitate future property transactions while minimizing conflicts.

Homeowners will experience better convenience through the upgraded e-Khata system, which will decrease paperwork requirements while establishing trust in Bengaluru's digital governance system. Experts believe the reforms will also help simplify property registrations and improve data accuracy in the city’s rapidly growing real estate market.
