Home decor is no longer just about matching cushions or picking the right shade of beige, it’s about emotion, storytelling, and identity. Interestingly, a quiet design revolution is being led by women entrepreneurs who are changing not only how homes look but how they feel. What sets many of them apart isn’t just aesthetics but also a sensitivity toward detail, a respect for craftsmanship, and an ability to see beyond trends into textures of meaning. Amid this new wave, Glass Forest emerges as a compelling narrative, founded by Pallavi Chandra and Deeksha Saini, as a company that not only redefines glass as a material but as a medium to reconnect the urban consumer with nature.
Founded in 2018, Glass Forest was born from a vision to bridge a unique gap in the Indian glassware market. At a time when most decorative glass products were either imported or manufactured in India solely for export, Pallavi and Deeksha recognized a lack of locally crafted, design-driven glass decor for the Indian audience. This inspired them to create a homegrown brand that celebrates the artistry of glass and reimagines it beyond mere functionality, transforming it into a medium of expression, emotion, and nostalgia. The company offers a diverse range of handcrafted glassware, including elegant home decor accents, sculptural light fixtures that capture the interplay of light and nature, decorative murals infused with organic textures, and bespoke art installations tailored to individual aesthetics.
Glass Forest explores diverse glassmaking techniques, including blown glass, textured flat glass, and mixed materials, refusing to be confined to a single form. Its core philosophy revolves around evoking emotional resonance, each product designed to spark memories, connect with nature, and bring a sense of timeless beauty into modern living spaces. At its heart, Glass Forest is an exploration of nature through form and function. The company consciously bridges the growing disconnect between fast-paced urban life and the quiet rhythm of the natural world.
Drawing inspiration from organic textures, bloom cycles, flora, fauna, and nostalgic memories, each piece aims to bring a sense of calm and groundedness into modern homes. “For instance, our Plumeria (Champa) range draws from the natural bloom cycle of the flower, delicately translated into a lighting collection that connects emotionally with the viewer.
Our goal is to create designs that don’t need explanation, pieces that instantly evoke feeling and connect intuitively”, adds Pallavi.
Crafting Emotion Through Design
What differentiates Glass Forest from others is its ability to blend simplicity with intricate detailing and emotional storytelling. Its unique design language focuses on clean, minimal forms enhanced through bold textures, vibrant color-blocking, and imaginative elements, such as animal-embellished straws or quirky sculptural accents. This thoughtful, artisanal approach, combined with a passion for innovation, positions the company as a standout brand in the Indian home decor space.
“Along with the design and the product itself, one of the most important things we focus on is staying true to our timelines and deliverables, and ensuring a seamless, transparent client experience from start to finish. We take immense pride in maintaining uncompromised quality, ethical business practices, and educating our clients throughout the process because every handcrafted piece reflects the time, energy, and love of the people behind it”, asserts Deeksha.
Honoring Craftsmanship & Collaboration
Glass Forest’s creations are deeply rooted in the essence of traditional craftsmanship while embracing contemporary aesthetics. The brand works closely with skilled local artisans, ensuring every product is entirely handcrafted with care, precision, and cultural depth. This collaboration is at the heart of its process, where age-old techniques, passed down through generations, are seamlessly blended with modern design sensibilities.
The designers act as creative guides, introducing artisans to evolving trends and aesthetics, while the artisans bring their rich heritage and technical expertise to the table. It’s a deeply collaborative process, an ongoing dialogue between makers and designers, where both contribute to the outcome. This synergy results in products that are not only visually modern but also culturally rooted and emotionally evocative.
Turning Fragility into Strength
Glass Forest’s journey has been shaped by the challenges and possibilities of working with glass, a material celebrated for its elegance but known for its fragility. From the outset, mastering this delicate medium required a high level of precision, patience, and technical adaptation. The team quickly learned that designing with glass demands not just creativity, but a deep understanding of its limitations and strengths. One of the biggest early challenges was bridging the gap between modern design ideas and traditional artisanal methods. Collaborating with local craftsmen meant navigating feasibility concerns, production constraints, and material adaptability. The team built a workflow that balanced creative intent with production practicality through continuous prototyping and close communication.
Another key hurdle was talent onboarding. Since glass is rarely explored in design education, new recruits needed extensive training to understand its properties and processes. The founders invested time in mentorship to ensure that the team was aligned with their quality standards and craftsmanship values. Despite the intricacies of the medium, Glass Forest built something just as vital, a culture. A structured five-day workweek, minimal overtime, and an open, collaborative environment helped foster both creativity and retention. Team members are actively involved in exhibitions and market research, empowering them to grow with the brand.

A Vision Beyond Glass
At Glass Forest, customer feedback is regarded as an integral part of the creative and production journey. It serves not only as a reflection of the client’s experience but also as a valuable tool for continuous improvement. Whether it is bespoke chandelier installations or artisanal home decor, the team places high importance on client responses, welcoming both appreciation and constructive critique. Every product delivery is followed by a feedback outreach, ensuring that the client’s expectations are fully met. In cases of dissatisfaction, prompt solutions are offered, including replacements or modifications to ensure complete customer satisfaction. The feedback loop extends beyond the design team to the artisans themselves to motivate every individual involved in the process.
As a women-led enterprise, Glass Forest also takes pride in contributing to the evolving landscape of the home decor industry, inspiring more women entrepreneurs to find their voice in design. Its work has been widely recognized across India and internationally, with notable projects such as the artistic installation at the RuPay Lounge, and International Terminal T3 in Delhi. Collaborating with leading architects and clients across the globe, the company continues to craft artisanal expressions that are aspirational, heartfelt, and deeply rooted in craft and culture. Its success lies not just in their products, but in the emotional experience it creates, making homes beautiful and soulful.
“We aspire to take Glass Forest to international platforms and global fairs, reaching a wider audience with our unique design language. More importantly, we want to showcase the richness of Indian craftsmanship and celebrate the artistry of our local artisans on a global stage”, concludes Pallavi.
