According to property registration documents accessed by CRE Matrix, the apartment was acquired from Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Pictures Private Limited, the production company associated with filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The transaction was officially registered on June 30, 2026.
The apartment is located in Bahar Apartment on Pali Mala Road in the upscale Pali Hill neighbourhood, one of Mumbai’s most sought-after residential addresses. The property offers a carpet area of 698 square feet and was purchased for ₹7.75 crore, translating to an acquisition cost of nearly ₹1.11 lakh per square foot based on the carpet area. Along with the apartment, the purchase includes an undivided share in the building’s common areas and land, as specified in the registered sale deed.

Property records show that Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Pictures Pvt. Ltd. had originally acquired the apartment in 2007 for approximately ₹1.20 crore. The latest transaction highlights the substantial appreciation in property values witnessed over the past two decades in Pali Hill, where limited housing supply and sustained demand continue to drive premium pricing.
As part of the transaction, Chopra paid ₹46.50 lakh in stamp duty and ₹30,000 as the registration fee. The seller was represented by Bharathi Mehra, while the buyer was listed in the documents as Vinod Dinanath Chopra, the filmmaker’s official name.
Pali Hill remains one of Mumbai’s most exclusive residential micro-markets, attracting celebrities, business leaders, and high-net-worth individuals due to its serene surroundings, limited inventory, and proximity to commercial districts such as Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC).
