Much Anticipated Pune Property Registrations Stays Calm with 1% Y-o-Y Rise

According to figures from the Maharashtra Inspector General of Registration (IGR), the real estate market in Pune stayed stagnant in February 2025, with a meager 1% Year-on-Year (YoY) rise in property registrations totaling 19,012, as opposed to 18,791 during the same period last year.

However, compared to the Rs. 662 crore collected in February 2024, the Pune district's stamp duty receipts in February 2025 climbed by 7.6% to Rs. 712 crore.

Nonetheless, property registrations rose 12% to 19,012 from 17,449 in January 2025. Data compiled by real estate consulting firm Knight Frank India shows that stamp duty receipts in January 2025 were Rs. 638 crore.

Knight Frank India reports that there is significant buyer confidence in the Pune real estate market, which was stable in February 2025.

According to the survey, this change reflects the rising demand for luxury properties in Pune's real estate sector.

The percentage of apartments over 800 square feet increased from 24% in February 2024 to 32% in February 2025, indicating the continued high demand for larger residences.

According to Knight Frank India's monthly report on property registrations in the Pune area, this tendency highlights the post-pandemic era's ongoing desire for large residences.
