Adani Motilal Nagar redevelopment

The Adani Group has secured its third major real estate project in Mumbai with the redevelopment of Motilal Nagar 1, 2, and 3 colonies in Goregaon (West).

On July 7, 2025, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) signed a redevelopment agreement with Adani Properties for the Rs. 36,000 crore project—making it one of the largest housing redevelopment initiatives in the country. Spread across 142 acres, the project is being executed under the Construction and Development (C&D) model and will include the rehabilitation of 3,372 eligible residential units, 328 commercial units, and 1,600 slum tenements under the provisions of the 1971 Slum Act.

Key Highlights

  • Adani Group to implement India’s largest C&D model redevelopment
  • Total project consists of 3,372 homes, 328 shops, 1,600 slum units
  • Strategic urban renewal by Adani Group

According to MHADA, this is the largest redevelopment project ever undertaken using the C&D model.

The signing ceremony took place at MHADA headquarters, attended by senior officials, including Sanjeev Jaiswal, Vice President & CEO of MHADA, and Pranav Adani, Director of Adani Properties.

This marks the Adani Group’s third major footprint in Mumbai’s urban transformation story, following its high-profile involvement in the Dharavi redevelopment and the Bandra Reclamation land deal. The Motilal Nagar project further underscores Adani’s aggressive push into urban infrastructure and real estate, aligned with government housing goals.
