ITC Hotels to Acquire GHK Hospitality for 155 Crore

The purchase of GHK Hospitality Private Limited by ITC Hotels for ₹155 crores is a step in the right direction towards acquiring the 130-key Welcomhotel Ahmedabad. This is in line with the company’s efforts to consolidate its ownership in hospitality facilities and at the same time increase its presence in various business destinations within India.

This is related to the purchase of 100% equity in GHK Hospitality that owns the Welcomhotel Ahmedabad. The hotel, situated in one of the foremost commercial centers of Gujarat, caters to business as well as pleasure travelers and fits into ITC Hotels' expanding portfolio in western India.

The Welcomhotel Ahmedabad has 130 guest rooms together with various food and beverages options, banquet and meeting venues, wellness facilities, and several other business oriented facilities. The hotel is conveniently located in the commercial hub of Ahmedabad and thus preferred by many corporate travelers, conventions, weddings, and social gatherings.

The acquisition announcement coincided with the impressive financial results recorded by the company during the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27. The company witnessed a 36% rise in the net profit from ₹182 crores compared to that of the previous year, whereas the income from operations was 15% higher at ₹936 crores.

According to the corporation, the move is one step forward in the process of asset owning, through which it can own more hotels under its belt and at the same time boost the asset light growth in the form of managing other hotels. Through such hotels, ITC Hotels can create better value for itself.
