| | FEBRUARY, 20268Bangalore Airport Hotel Limited (BAHL), a subsidiary of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), is evaluating the development of a luxury or ultra-luxury hotel at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), Bengaluru.BAHL has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to engage consultants for a feasibility study, marking the early stages of the project's assessment.Currently, the airport hosts the Taj Bangalore, a five-star hotel with 370 rooms located approximately 250 metres from Terminal 1. Additionally, a 775-room combo hotel comprising 450 rooms under Vivanta and 325 rooms under Ginger is under construction.This is slated to open later this year as part of the larger Bengaluru Airport City development. Upon completion, these properties will provide a total inventory of 1,145 rooms on airport premises.The 463-acre Bengaluru Airport City is planned to accommodate business parks, a concert arena, and other commercial developments. According to demand studies by Bangalore Airport City Limited (BACL), the precinct could support up to 5,200 hotel keys, underscoring significant growth potential in the hospitality sector.The feasibility study will determine the scale, positioning, and commercial viability of an additional luxury or ultra-luxury hotel at KIA. This development aims to diversify hospitality offerings at the airport, drawing comparisons with Delhi's Aerocity model, and catering to both business and leisure travellers visiting the airport city ecosystem.
